Agency Mission Statement:
To enable clean and sober living in a safe, recovery-focused, therapeutic community environment that is owned, operated, and maintained by program participants.

Funded Program:
Clean and Sober Living: It is the intent of this program that the participants are successful in their recovery from addiction and are able to re-enter the workforce as healthy, stable, confident, nurturing individuals. By sharing the responsibility for not only their own recovery but for the recovery of others, by working as part of the Alahou community to ensure the ongoing sustainability of the facility, by learning basic life skills and participating a healthier life style, and by gaining self-esteem through participation in volunteer service to the Kona community, program participants are gathering the tools they need to become self-reliant contributors and rebuild their family and social relationships.

Client Outcome Stories:
"Sandy B. entered our program seeking a safe place to work on her sobriety and methamphetamine addiction. After a single relapse at four months, Sandy got back on track, enrolled in culinary school, and graduated in 2009. She now works at a Kona resort, resides in one of our independent living apartments, and is a role model for the Alahou community."

"Lee Ann B. was placed in our program by her PO as an alternative to six years in jail for drugs and theft. She worked diligently on her recovery, also achieving a Certified Nursing Assistant certification. She now works for a local clinic, resides in one of our independent living apartments, and is a role model for the Alahou community."
