Agency Mission Statement:
Hawaii First Community Ventures is the 501(c)(3) charitable arm of Hawaii First Federal Credit Union's Hawaii First Federal Credit Union's Hawaii First Community Resorce Center. Through our no-cost resource center, Hawaii First provides services to any resident's of the Big Island of Hawaii, focusing on Hawaii's much needed economic development, one family at a time.
Hawaii First is there to help one reach their goal by providing the much needed tools and resources necessary to obtain self-sustainablility.
Funded Program:
Hawaii First Community Resource Center: is focused on assisting Hawaii County residents through obtaining self sustainability, providing solutions to overcoming financial hardships, and contributing to the re-establishment of Hawaii Island's Economic Development. Hawaii First Community Resource Center provides the much needed tools and resources necessary to obtain self-sustainability. It is the 501 (c)(3) charitable arm of Hawaii First Federal Credit Union's First Community Resource Center. Through our no-cost resource center, Hawaii First provides services to any resident of the Big Island of Hawaii, focusing on Hawaii's much needed economic development, one family at a time.
Hawaii First Community Resource Center responds to many community needs by providing no cost services in the following areas: Individual Development Accounts; financial education; personal money management; debt solutions; credit repair; assistance with resume', job seeking and employment training; small business start up/development; foreclosure prevention assistance; and computer with Internet access; small business development and generating free income tax preparation for low-income families.
Client Outcome Story: Upon repeatedly seeking employment with no success, Ana became discouraged and frightened about finances. Ana was assisted with an “Action Plan” including updated, professional resume’, job interview experience/training, working one-on-one with HFCRC staff, business plan for her art as an alternative plan, and no-cost tax return preparations. Ana completed her “Action Plan”, finding a job using her skills doing what she loves!
