Hospice of Hilo
It is the mission of Hospice of Hilo to provide support, comfort and interdisciplinary care to the terminally ill and their loved ones, and to provide education and grief support to the community at large.
Funded program
Bereavement Support Services: Individual face-to-face counseling services and family counseling are provided at the Hospice of Hilo center at 1011 Waianuenua Avenue and/or in the homes of the bereaved. Individual telephone counseling is provided wherever clients reside. Support group services are provided at the Hospice of Hilo facilities, at the YMCA Pahoa Neighborhood place in Pahoa, and – in the case of the Young People’s Grief Camp—the Kilauea Military Camp. Bereavement consultation and training for other professionals is provided both at Hospice of Hilo and at the offices of the professionals receiving these services. Public educational presentations are offered at the Hospice of Hilo center and/or at other sites where groups or audiences may be assembled.
