Special Events
There are a number of special events that the HIUW runs throughout the year. Special events are intended to not only raise funds but to raise friends!
February 2008: Ho'olaulea at the Keauhou Shopping Center
Volunteers needed:
- To help solicit silent auction items for the event-picking items up and thanking those that donate
- Assist in set-up and clean-up
- Help prepare bid sheets and item descriptions.
- Provide support during the day
March 2008: Luck of the Irish Golf Tournament
Held at the beautiful Hokulia Golf Course.
Volunteers needed:
- To be an active committee member
- To assist with the live and silent auctions the day before the golf tournament ( see above activities)
- Provide support the day of the event. There are number of activities volunteers are needed for; these are just a few examples
- Shuttling golfers
- Delivering water to golfers on the course
- Assist with record keeping and registration
- Set up and clean up; hang posters; provide general support
September 22, 2007: Mayor’s Cup Golf Tournament
Held this year at the magnificent Mauna Lani Resort Golf Course
Evening in Paradise the Hawaii Island United Ways signature Event will be held at the Lovely Mauna Lani Resort at Kalahuipua’a
Volunteers needed:
- To serve as an active member of the committee
- Promoting the event by hanging posters and tickets sales
- Providing on-site support
- Registration
- To help solicit silent auction items for the event-picking items up and thanking those that donate.
- Prepare auction item bid sheets and item descriptions
