Employee campaigns at the workplace are often called the "bread and butter" of the annual campaign. Volunteers serving on the Campaign Committee donate their time to deliver a packet of materials to businesses for employee campaigns.
There are three common ways to give at work:

Supportive business environment
With the support of the business owner/manager (The Decision Maker), in coordination with business agents where appropriate, employees receive a copy of the United Way brochure (which included the donor designation form), the pledge form, and a Labor flyer. HIUW encourages the scheduling of time for employees to see a video or hear from an agency representative on how donations help people in our community.

Enthusiasm is key
Enthusiastic employee coordinators are the key to successful campaigns, and often they use a team approach and creative means to make the "fund" raiser a "fun" raiser.

Recognition
Upon completion of the campaign, the owner/manager or company Campaign coordinator turns in results and any unused materials to the HIUW volunteer. Companies that qualify for Gold, Silver, or Bronze level recognition are listed in the annual report and on the web site.
